Near the end of 2013, Shaggy released his 12th studio album entitled “Out of Many, One Music”. Â Although an intriguing title, I hadn’t really listened to very much Shaggy after his “Boombastic” album in 1995. Â For some reason, I just felt like he had become far too commercial and was making his music for a different audience altogether. Â As a result, I largely ignored the release of this album, but in hindsight that may have been a mistake.
Recently, I noticed a tweet that Shaggy had released an official music video for a song called “Bridges” featuring Chronixx.  Since I’m a big Chronixx fan, I took the bait and clicked the link.  Within 30 seconds, I was hooked!  I was really super impressed with this song, and began looking up the track list for Shaggy’s album.  I was stunned to see the list of all the artists he had collaborated with on this album, not to mention that it was produced by the legendary Sly & Robbie.  The album cover also shows the list of featured artists, which can be seen below:
After hearing this tune, and the instant credibility these artists and producers give the album means I’m going to have to give it a listen. Â In the meantime, check out the video for the song “Bridges” below. Â Looks like it was stitched together using footage from the Uprising Festival in Slovakia where Shaggy and Chronixx actually took the stage together for the first time. Â Respect.
