I’ve had a Twitter account since 2009, but I never really “got” it. Â I struggled to say anything of substance in 140 characters. Â I didn’t understand why random people would want to “follow” me, and I didn’t know why I would want to follow random people. Â I then proceeded to ignore it for the next 5 years. Â It was only after I started this blog, and began playing with social media plug-ins did I start to understand how to use it. Â Following artists that I enjoy listening to, and sometimes their fans, has led to a few cool music discoveries.
One of the discoveries I made a while ago was an Australian reggae band called Blue King Brown.  If I remember correctly, I think Jesse Royal (@JesseRoyal1) who I follow on Twitter, retweeted a tweet from Blue King Brown that had a link to a new track from their album.  The track actually featured Jesse Royal, and so I gave it a listen (which I probably would not have done otherwise).  I ended up really enjoying the track, and as a result I will probably listen to the album they released in November 2014 called “Born Free”.  If I find anymore gems from this band, TickuTalk.com readers will be the first to know!
